Dark colours attract the heat and light colours are more visible to bees at night .Khaki is a good practical colour but everything from straight white to tie-dyed rainbows works. I have a ventilated suit and find it unpleasant to wear to the point that I would rather be a bit hotter than have to wear it. There may be better brands that don't feel like you are wearing a plastic pot scrubber but I think major problem with them is that you don't get any evaporation of the material. They keep you cool if there is a breeze but if there is a breezy don't need it anyway. I like to compromise by having fairly heavy gear spring and autumn with some very light material veils and overalls for summer use.
