Quite opposite to my usual hive situation, I currently have two humdingers that are really annoying.....packed with honey & wax.... bending hivetool & creaking frames....
.....I couldn't stand being a commercial and having this battle all day....

especially when someone throws a dozen boxes on it and you need a ladder to get to the top.

I have a bunch of wedges for levelling hives.

I get mine from odd DIY jobs doing bevel cuts on ends of timber.

And I remember a local beek came to the ChCh club with a massive box full from a project he was doing.

anyway, cut two wedges at a time and your timber ends up square again. Much easier, and safer to cut off a larger piece than trying to split a smaller piece diagonally.
