Can I place a honey super on a single brood box that has Bayvarole strips? Strips went in on the 20th Oct. Hive is full and bearding is happening. Don't want to have a swarm. Could split but have not tried it yet.

Bayvarol can legally be placed in hives with honey supers on, if it is an emergency situation to save the hive.

So for you, if you consider the hive to be at risk if not treated, you are allowed to do it.

Thanks Alistair, It will be 6 weeks by Friday next week so happy to leave in for another week. Have just put a sticky board in so will see whats dropping in 3 days time.

Sounds good. One thing though, although it does say a 6 week minimum period on the packet, 8 weeks is better, experience is the 6 week period can still leave a few more mites than desirable.
