This is from the report that NZBI presented to the Minister as part of their review of the PMP.


I am not clear what is meant by "whole-population management of AFB", nor how it might operate in practice.

Neither.

But the general thrust of it seems to make sense.

I was expecting some kind of punchline. But there isn't one.

Perhaps reference to some that may not carry out”whole population“ disease inspection. Either at a whole individual hive level or at apiary level 🤷‍♂️

To me it means the costs compliant beekeepers pay helps with the policing of non compliant beekeepers, thereby keeping the incidence of AFB down throughout the entire beekeeping / beehive population in NZ.
