i've seen a couple of swarm reports posted too. Plenty of drone brood and drones in strong healthy hives i looked at over the weekend in wellington.
I lost a wee one from an overwintered three frame nuc. Just missed it as I was setting up 30 mating nucs. She left me with three slabs of brood and plenty of bees, plus a couple of capped swarm cells - still young. Now I have used those frames for three more nucs… shame to lose the queen tho.
Found a few more swarm cells as I was breaking hives down, so they are into it!
I have supered up eight of the strong hives already and they are half full already. Amazing!
