Using oxalic staples - 2 years on

I use 800g OA to 1200g GL for a 40% solution. This is for exactly 100 staples (three layer, full width). And, as @Otto say, they last over winter in a sealed bucket.

Otto I looked at your PDF and have a question. Or anyone else for that matter. If I understand your drawing correctly you are inserting a single strip onone side of a frame, skipping the other side and then inserting another single strip? How are you suspending so the strip doesn't fall down inside? Earlier weren't people stradling the frames with one staple but legs on both sides?

I just assumed his pictures were indicating the staple straddling the frame....
How does the length work?

Strips are shaped as a staple so one hangs over a frame with the ends hanging either side of the frame (I.e. equivalent of a strip on both sides of the frame).
