I know it's late to be taking honey but they are chocka and I don't want them swarming. Usually I scrape the frames into a baking dish and leave the honey in a sieve in a sealed container to run through. This won't run at all, I thought manuka but they are bringing it in now and the manuka here finished flowering a while ago. They are not bringing in a lot of pollen, but what there is, is mid-to-dark yellow. Any thoughts on what it might be? Quite dark but good flavour.

Kanuka is more thixotrophic than manuka.

Re swarming, very rare for a hive to send out a normal swarm this time of year. More commonly would be an absconding swarm due to mites.
