White Plastic Frames warping.

I bought a carton of unused FD White plastic frames from a retired beekeeper.
I notice they were a bit lighter and flimsier than my newer black frames.
When I used melted wax and a small paint roller to coat them most of the white frames warped a bit.
Is this a thing that those frames do or is it operator error on my part.

Those old white frames warped quite badly. They were pretty poor quality.

But remember they were the first one made in New Zealand and a lot of work has gone in the the one we have today

My first thought was why would you buy plastic frames when you can get perfectly good wooden ones but that is just my personal bias.
To answer your question. Have the melted wax as cool as possible and get both sides coated as quickly as possible seems to help with the warping. I was actually involved with road testing some of the very first plastic frames ever made in New Zealand and used a lot of them for a while.

@Sputnik, try to do one side at the time. I do the same with the black plastic frames. By the time I finish 30-40 frames(one side) the first will cool down and I can do the other side. Its a double-handling but you get the best result.
