Hi guys,
We mixed up a batch of Oxalic acid and glycerin yesterday and left the strips to soak overnight. This morning the strips look pretty soaked but the leftover substance has become quite solid and almost jelly like in texture, is this normal or should it have stayed liquid? could it have gotten too cold?

The melting point of pure glycerine is about 18 degrees, so if it gets any colder than that might risk freezing. Perhaps there's a possibility you're on the verge of it solidifying, especially if it was left in an unheated area.

I found that leaving them to soak somewhere outdoors overnight did this when it was a colder night. The strips still worked fine but for the sake of a consistent product I leave them to soak inside where temperature is more consistent.
